Who I Am
PK Sinha
Somatic Therapist/ Couples Therapist
I began my journey on a very different path—studying Chemical Engineering at the University of Toronto. At that time, I knew very little about mental health. As a young adult, I was carrying the weight of a competitive academic environment, the tension between the values I was raised with and the values of Western culture, the challenges of early relationships, and the impact of some painful life experiences. I completed my degree, but I couldn’t ignore the feeling that something essential was missing—meaning and purpose.
That realization sparked a deep period of self-exploration. I travelled, tried different career paths, and, most importantly, began my own journey of healing through counselling and therapy. Those experiences opened my eyes to something that felt profoundly important to me: the power of human connection. I discovered a genuine passion for listening to people’s stories, for understanding the layers of their struggles, and for honouring the unique details that make each of us who we are.
My path first led me to become a yoga instructor. I loved guiding people in reconnecting with their bodies and inner selves, but I soon realized I wanted to support others on an even deeper level. That calling brought me to front-line work with some of the most underserved members of our communities. There, I learned firsthand how quickly life can unravel under the weight of trauma, systemic barriers, and lack of support—and how transformative it can be when someone feels truly seen, understood, and empowered to reclaim their path.
Over the years, I’ve woven together formal training, diverse work experiences, and my own lived experience. Today, I am proud to be a Registered Clinical Counsellor. I founded Guided Healing Therapy to help bridge the gaps I’ve seen in our mental health system—gaps that can leave people without the care they need. While we are still in our early beginnings, our vision is clear: to grow steadily, to meet people with compassion, and to create lasting, meaningful change in the lives of those we serve.
Most importantly, I would be honoured to walk alongside you in your own healing journey, offering support as you rediscover your strength, purpose, and sense of self.
